Alta - Town of the Northern Lights

Overall Holiday Rating: Excellent. SAS flights were good. All taxis and transport in Alta was unbelievably punctual, excellent with really good quality vehicles. The trips in Alta were excellent and the organizers very friendly and informative. We really enjoyed the holiday and would recommend it. The night-time Glod trip to try and catch the Northern Lights was great and the host was very entertaining and enthusiastic. Also, the Ice Hotel was amazing, like nothing we'd ever seen before and the Sorrisneva restaurant and meal were fabulous. The top Norwegian chef came and took our order himself and also came to everybody's table to see if all was ok. Apparently later that night (after we'd left though) the Northern Lights started and the staff told all the diners so that they could dash outside to look. Alta was very quiet but we enjoyed the lack of crowds and the feeling of space. Great holiday - loved it and were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights.
