Camp Tamok

Camp Tamok - Tromso and Lyngsfjord, Norway

During your holiday you will spend one night at Camp Tamok, a wilderness camp set amidst spectacular surroundings. It is also the starting point for most activities.

Your overnights here will be in shared accommodation either in a wooden kota or wooden cabin where you spend the night warmed by a stove. There are no showers out here but there is a cosy sauna. Toilets are situated a short walk from the accommodation.

You will find no better place from which to view the Northern Lights should they appear as you really are in the middle of nowhere and well away from light pollution.

Jo Doran, travel expert - Activities Abroad

"I've been lucky enough to have enjoyed 'mushing' everywhere from Finland to British Columbia but my recent husky safari in Lyngsfjord was the best of the lot. I think that the difference between this and other trips was that it was certainly more technical (i.e. quite a lot of falling off!) and took me through one of the wildest mountain valleys it has ever been my privilege to witness. This is untamed and adrenaline pumping territory where wolves and even bears roam freely. It's wild, magnificent and wonderful but not for the faint hearted." Jo Doran
