we know.....
The charming traditional town of Bad Hindelang is the base for this family holiday. It is built in the traditional Bavarian style with a range of bars, restaurants and small shops for you to explore. The town is surrounded by vast green meadows and towering alpine peaks. The minimum age for this holiday is eight years meaning that it is ideal for families taking part in their first activity holiday or with slightly younger children. You are in very safe hands here and this holiday gained a 100% satisfaction rating from the feedback we received last summer for the second year running.
This alpine region is lesser known than its French and Austrian counterparts but it is still easily accessible by road. Drive time from Calais is approximately 9 hours and based on prices last year we estimate that a family of four saves between 50-60% by self driving instead of flying. Having your car whilst in Germany also gives you the flexibility to explore the region and local attractions.

“Just a short note to say what a great holiday myself and the family have experienced in Germany. The hotel was great fun and the families we were with were excellent, all the kids and parents bonded fantastically. Your local guide Stefan was fantastic and very good at every activity. My kids have a new German super hero in their lives.” The Lee Family - July 2010

monday - team treasure hunt
This is a fantastic start to the programme and includes lots of team building activities to get the group working together. The activities will vary depending on the route chosen and the group itself, but they may include building a rope bridge, zip wires, spiders web and our all time favourite – Bavarian sumo wrestling; complete with inflatable sumo suits!
tuesday - kayaking
This morning will start with an introduction to kayaking on the calm waters of the lake. You will receive tuition from the guides and take part in some games to build confidence on the water. After a break for lunch, you will transfer your kayaks to the faster paced river to try out your new skills. The whole family will feel a great sense of achievement with their adventure today.
wednesday - canyoning
This canyon is perfect for families, with a fantastic range of jumps, slides and abseils. During your journey down river there are deep pools suitable for swimming (or water fights!) and some beautiful rock formations. This is a very active day and this canyon adventure is the highlight of many peoples’ holiday here.
thursday - free day
Your proximity to the public outdoor heated swimming pool comes in very handy today! If you are feeling more active, we recommend taking the cable car up the mountain and enjoying some of the beautiful walking trails. You can have lunch on the terrace of the restaurant and enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the valley below.
friday - high ropes adventure course
This high ropes adventure was built by our partners here in Bavaria. They have designed the course to include several unique mental and physical problem solving challenges. Cargo nets, wooden ladders, zip lines and a Jacobs’s ladder are all part of this fantastic course.
saturday - mini rafting
Mini rafting is similar to white water rafting but with fewer people in the raft. This gives each individual a greater amount of control over direction and speed; we find it quickly encourages team work within the raft! This is a great final activity together and after returning to the hotel for a hot shower, a farewell meal will be served for the group in the restaurant.
sunday - depart or extend your stay
After breakfast you will check out of the hotel and start your journey home or it is also possible to extend your holiday here in Bad Hindelang. Please contact us to discuss the available options.

The Allgau Region of Southern Germany is the location for this family activity holiday. Specifically we are based in and around the German Town of Bad Hindelang, where our accommodation is the ‘Gasthof Im Wiesengrund’.
The Gasthof is owned and run by the Kullman Family and it is totally in character with the local environment and very traditional in all aspects.
Our local partners were all born and raised in the Allgau Region and are very proud of the natural beauty of the area in which they live and as a consequence are very committed to managing tourism in such a way as to enhance rather than adversely impact on this.
Their ethos with regard to activities is to only offer those which by definition do not in any way harm or damage the local environment. In addition, the guides and instructors act as unofficial wardens of the environment by reporting to the relevant authorities any examples of unnecessary abuse, pollution caused by visitors to the region.
Every endeavour is made to ensure that the local economy benefits directly from our presence including accommodation, transport and employment opportunities.
