The guide Ivan was excellent - really friendly, knowledgeable and well organised. We enjoyed the canoe safari - loved the hidden waterfall and pool to swim in.

We did enjoy the canyoning, which was made even more special by the excellence of the guides, Paulo and Bruno. They were particularly brilliant with my 6-year-old, who was very nervous at the start, but laughing and loving it by the end. Simon our guide was great fun and knowledgeable, lovely that he brought his dog along, the kids loved that. Dwayne for abseiling and climbing was also excellent.

A review of Croatia - Plitvice Lakes Adventure by The Irons FamilyOur guide Petar was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and patient with the group, particularly the kids. He went out of his way to show us different places and took us to Zavratnica on our day off. Paddle boarding was the surprise hit for us all. It was great fun as it was new to us all and we kept falling in! We are already thinking ahead to next year!

Read more him? My youngest daughter (just 10) wanted to try the canyoning too and her big brother helped. Unfortunately, with a little push in the back from her big brother to get her off the rock, she got out of alignment and entered the water face first. She was distraught and in some pain from the impact. One of our guides, Sarah, immediately helped her calm down and got her back to shore. We returned to our kayaks, ready to head back to the hotel. But my daughter was sad and somewhat embarrassed about what had happened to her. She quietly said to our guide, Ivan, that she would like another go. With no hesitation, Ivan swam with her back out to the rocks, and together they climbed, paused, held hands, and jumped together – fortunately with a very clean water entry. Followed by a great high-five and cheers from the other families! Although this was the first of our trips of the week, it turned out to have summed up Ivan – he always made the time and effort to make the day special and Sarah took the care to ensure that all was well. Ivan was patient and never got flustered.

Amazing Azores!

A review of The Azores – Lava Lands and Searching for Dolphins by The Mooney FamilyWe loved the canyoning. Great scenery, location. Something different than we have never done before. Challenging, thrilling, fun! 10/10. The day at the lake; cycling and kayaking which was preceded by a dip in the boiling hot coastal "lava" pool was a very close second 9.5/10. The hosts for our tour, Maria and Rodrigo, were just brilliant.... especially Maria. Nothing was too much trouble for her.…
Read more Her passion and knowledge for the island made the holiday so much more relevant and interesting. I thought we were going on an activity holiday but came back feeling like I'd been on the best Geography Field trip ever. My kids, 19, 14 and 14 all agreed that this was a brilliant holiday....we'll never do an all-inclusive, sit around the pool again.

Each member of the family had a different favourite including climbing, hiking, zip wiring (optional) and river kayaking - it was wonderful being on the river and being in/out of the water! Dragonflies and turtles made it even better. We thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and thought that the national parks in Croatia were beautiful.
