Read more definitely recommend Activities Abroad and the overall holiday to friends.I have never visitied anywhere in the world quite so tranquil as the very northern part of Finland.If you are thinking of going, please do. Just make sure you take a few things for the kids to do and I guarantee they won't get bored, just very tired.

Read more The accommodation was very comfortable, food much tastier than it at first appeared, and the activities were well organised and hugely enjoyed by all of us. Something I appreciated was the absence of souvenir shops at all the attractions, and the authentic feel that the local guides and activity providers maintain. We didn't get to see the Aurora, but I wouldn't be surprised if we came back for another try!

Snowmobiles to huskies - active and well organised

All the staff were very good and helped to ensure it was an enjoyable holiday.The day in the wilderness was excellent - the kids loved building fires! All activities were very enjoyable. Read more everything seemed to slot together from the flights right through to the various activities on offer. The owners of the hotel have a great loyal team working with them and everyone works incredibly hard. They are clearly passionate about what they do. They were very helpful and approachable. Nothing was too much trouble.

We enjoyed all the activities, but in particular the visit to the reindeer farm was very interesting and the herder was a great host. The husky safari was an amazing experience too. Sadly we only got one tantalising glimpse of the northern lights - might have to try again next year!We would consider another similar trip next winter as this has been such a success.

Really hard to pick the best activity
A review of Luosto Finnish Log Cabin Taster Week by Samantha PattersonReally hard to pick the best activity as the cross country skiing, snow trekking and ice fishing were really popular with us all. The amethyst mine was great - actually digging for the amethysts was engrossing. Husky sledging was fantastic.
